Ultimate Beverage Challenge 96 points (Mar 2012) The aromatics are amazingly generous with scents redolent of rare, reserve casks of rum with sweet malt, mocha, orange zest, and roasted walnuts. The palate is like velvet in its texture with a firm toasted grain note emerging on the finish along with br  Wine Enthusiast 95 points (Dec 2011) This dark and luscious spirit is made using "high roast” malted barley to coax out chocolate and espresso flavors, then married with other "rare and ancient” whiskies. The end result is a burnished copper glow, intense toffee aroma, resonating espresso, nut and toasty oak flavors and a lingering cinnamon-clove finish. Each sip warms all the way down.
